To be a magician is to take responsibility for one’s own life, completely.
As soon as one accepts that responsibility and ceases to blame others, one becomes a magician. Whether one practices any particular system of magic is irrelevant. The perspective of responsibility is itself the practice of magic.
A magician recognizes that one cannot change the world, only oneself. A magician recognizes that the only way to change the world is to change the self first and then engage with the world. A magician recognizes that, ultimately, the world is the self, and no change is necessary.
